TWELFTH NIGHT

WRITTEN BY William Shakespeare

DIRECTED BY Jordan Friend

July 10-26 2015

*in repertory with Tis Pity She's a Whore.

ABOUT

“If they came to me right now and said, ‘We’re going to burn two out of the three of you—you, your brother, or your stories’...I’d have it be the stories they saved.”-Katurian

In this chilling pitch-black comedy, Irish playwright Martin McDanagh explores the purpose and danger of storytelling. In an imagined totalitarian country, Katurian, a short story writer, finds himself blindfolded in an interrogation room with two detectives. He soon learns that he is being held there because the grisly details of his stories have identically paralleled a recent string of brutal murders. He must come to terms with this horrible perversion of his work, as he struggles to decide which is more important: his legacy or his life?

PRESS

“Lively, enjoyable, and aesthetically striking, Twelfth Night was a production I was glad I did not miss...4615 Theater Company is a group to watch out for. If they provided this strong of a performance out of Friend’s basement, I am curious to see where they are in five years.”
